Independent Socio-Legal Researcher and Consultant with expertise in the areas of Scot's child and family law, child protection, gender-based violence and the analysis of legal processes (both civil and criminal).
Services include:
Systematic or rapid reviews of academic and grey literature pertaining to law and policy affecting children and families. Extraction of data from documents (eg: court processes or administrative data) and analysis using statistical software. |
Design, dissemination and analysis of online and hard copy surveys. Undertaking social research interviews and analysis of interview data. |
Dr Mackay regularly gives oral presentations on current law and legal processes as well as research findings to specialist audiences and at academic conferences.
She has designed and delivered bespoke CPD training on child protection (including the children's hearing system) and on gender based violence. |
